I LOVE WOMEN
The Vagina Monologue has a catchy name and I have heard people talk about how interesting it is. V-day is an organization that was created in order to stop any and every kind of violence against women all over the world. It was started by Eve Ensler after all the women that showed interest in sharing their stories after a 1994 play written by her called The Vagina Monologues. The non profit organization did not actually get established until 1998 in New York City, they ally with different organizations across the world that have different ways of educating people and showing how women should be empowered, not hurt and abused. The mission of V-Day is to completely stop women violence across the world with different innovative ways, a world where women do not have to worry about surviving and just live. Women are current beaten, raped, mutilated, forced into slavery and taken advantage of many different ways.I think that the only reason women are treated in this fashion is because we have always seen a white male as the dominant figure that "should" be able to do as he please how he please while women just play the background and do what are told. There are some people who have not realized that this is insane because we all come from women.

I personally chose The Clothesline Project as my community organization choice. However, I have always been intrigued by the vagina monologues and already made plans to attend the event at BSU in April with a group of friends. I am intrigued by it because it is a different style of creating awareness and educating society about women. It is creative and enables one to see and hear the voices of the survivors or understand the stories of those who fell victim to domestic and sexual violence through the artistic story telling of others.
